2007 PA Golf Association Changes

CHANGES FOR THE 2007 SEASON

DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICES POLICY:
For play in all Pennsylvania Golf Association Championships and Qualifiers, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only. However, if, during a stipulated round, a player uses a distance-measuring device that is designed to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g., gradient, wind-speed, temperatures, etc.) the player is in breach of Rule 14-3, for which the penalty is disqualification of the side, regardless of whether any such additional functions are actually used.

Amateur: $ 160
Amateur Public Links: $ 115
Amateur Match Play: $ 160
Better-Ball: $ 135 Per Person
Hemlock: $ 160
Junior: $ 85
Mid-Amateur: $ 160
Open: $ 175 Am - $ 225 Pro
Senior Amateur: $ 160
Senior Better-Ball: $ 135 Per Person
Senior Team: $ 200 Per Person

QUALIFYING PROCEDURE:
The Championship Qualifying Play-off Procedure will have no play-off immediately following the last group to finish. The new procedure will move a set number of qualifiers and ties to the championship proper.

SENIOR AMATEUR PLAYER OF THE YEAR:
A Senior Amateur Player of the Year has been developed and will be used to find the 16 players that will be invited to the Senior Amateur Match Play Championship.

AMATEUR PULIC LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Top 5 from the 2006 Amateur Public Links will gain an exemption into the 2007 PA Amateur.

HEMLOCK CHAMPIONSHIP:
The age restriction will be age 45 and older. The Championship will have an overall championship and three flight championships.

Age 45 to 54 - Age 55 to 64 - Age 65 and Over

SENIOR TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
The restriction that players need to be from the same club has been removed.
