Oakmont's Studer Elected President of the Pennsylvania Golf Association

Mark A. Studer of Oakmont Country Club has been elected President of the Pennsylvania Golf Association for the 2007 season.

Mr. Studer succeeds Tom Paul of Gulph Mills Golf Club, who held the position in 2006.

Mr. Studer, a resident of Pittsburgh, Pa., has served on the Pennsylvania Golf Association Executive Committee since 1999. Studer served as the Green Chairman of Oakmont Country Club for three years and on the Greens Committee for 13 years; was President of the WPGA in 1999; was on the USGA Junior Committee from 1992 to 2002; has been on the USGA Green Section Committee since 2001 and has officiated in the last eight U.S. Open Championships. He also currently serves as President of the First Tee of Pittsburgh for the last two years.

"We look forward to you participating in our championships as either a competitor or a valued volunteer. Over the past five years, the Pennsylvania Golf Association has included over 50 new enthusiastic volunteers promoting and supporting amateur golf," said Studer. "Webster's Dictionary defines amateur as one who cultivates any study, art or sport for the love of it, and not for money. We hope you will consider helping our amateur golf association in celebrating its 98th year."

Mr. Studer is a 1976 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and also received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is the owner of Sureflow Corporation, a manufacturing replacement parts company for pneumatic tools and pumps.

Additional officers of the Pennsylvania Golf Association presented by the Nominating Committee and approved were Randall L. Valentine of The Kahkwa Club, Vice-President, Raymond C. Mott of Dauphin Highlands Golf Course, Vice-President and Charles R. Dannenberg of Merion, Secretary-Treasurer.

The Association also welcomed James J. Callaghan of Rolling Green Golf Club and Richard L. Falchetti of Kittaning Country Club as its newest Executive Committee Members.
