|The 1990ís saw the game of golf grow tremendously leaving most State and Regional Golf Associations with the task of adding new tournaments such as the Four-Ball.
In 1990, Hillcrest Country Club was the site for the inaugural Four-Ball Championship. Guy Costin and Tom Shallow of Philadelphia Country Club won by two shots over Sean Knapp and Jeff Schroeder of St. Jude Golf Club.

|The Four-Ball Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who is member of a club belonging to the Pennsylvania Golf Association or an individual member of the Pennsylvania Golf Association. Players need not be members of the same club. |
At time of entry, one player from the side will complete the entire entry process. That player will need the partnerís GHIN number or User ID. If unsure of that information, please contact the golf office at 610-687-2340 x19.
|Selection of the field will be based on the lowest 72 combined indexes as of the close of entries (May 1st revision date). All indexes must be valid. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on the entry closing date. Entry fee for the Four-Ball is $310 per team, which must accompany the entry. |
|Players who have been accepted as participants in Pennsylvania Golf Association championships will receive event information concerning course assignment, practice rounds, pairings, and starting times approximately 10 days prior to the event. If you have not received your information seven days prior to the event, it is your responsibility to contact the Pennsylvania Golf Association. Information can also be found at www.pagolf.org.|
| Starting Times|
|The PAGA staff, following as closely as practical the preferences indicated on the entry blanks will determine pairings and tee times. Contestants will be notified of starting times by mail. The "Official Time" will be maintained at the starting tee(s) only. Starters will not page players in advance of their starting time. Players should report to the tee one starting interval prior to their tee time. 1st round results will determine 2nd round pairings.|
| Caddie & Cart|
|Carts are permitted. Players are permitted to walk and carry, bring their own caddie, or hire a club caddie. If hiring a club caddie, players MUST contact Mike Uccelletti via email at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a caddie in advance. |

Pull carts are permitted, but players MUST use club provided pull carts at no charge.
|The team with the lowest gross score after 36 holes will be declared Four-Ball Champions and have their name engraved on the Mayorís Trophy. Additional prizes will be awarded to the top 5 places.|
|In the event of a tie for the Four-Ball Championship, there will be a sudden-death playoff immediately following the conclusion of play Thursday afternoon. All other ties will be broken by matching scorecards in accordance with USGA guidelines.|

|Will be open approximately one hour prior to the first tee time.|
|Please be at your starting tee at least ten minutes prior to your starting time. There is no formal registration for the event.|
| Food & Beverage|
|Lunch will be provided by the Association for players only on each day of competition. Caddies/spectators may purchase lunch via cash. Additional F&B purchases will be available in the clubhouse at Militia Hill.|
