Team Pennsylvania names coaches for 2026

Finlan Scally, Mitchell and Williams named coaches 

Team Pennsylvania, as part of the United States National Development Program (USNDP), named its coaches for the 2026 season.

Jill Finlan Scally, Brenden Mitchell and Troy Williams will join captain Scott Nye to lead the 24 members of Team Pennsylvania.

The role of these coaches is to be an integral leader of the Team Pennsylvania program and to further the mission of fostering future generations of American golf talent.

Finlan Scally has served as an LPGA teaching professional at Scally’s Golf Center in Moon Township, Pa. for the past 21 years. She played collegiately at Penn State University from 1991-96. She redshirted her freshman year. Finlan Scally played in the 2000 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur and the 2001 U.S. Women’s Amateur. She was a member of the LPGA Futures Tour, now known as the Epson Tour, from 2001-06.

“It is a great honor to be named a coach for Team Pennsylvania,” Finlan Scally, 52, of Moon Township, Pa., said. “The game of golf has given me so much in my life and it has helped shape the person I am today. I am really happy to give back to the game and share my passion for this wonderful sport. It is exciting for me to see kids who also love the game and develop a passion for learning and playing.”

Mitchell is in his third year as the Director of Player Development at Philadelphia Country Club. A native of Beverly, Mass., Mitchell graduated from Methodist University in 2016. He served as an assistant golf professional at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. from 2016-21. Mitchell was recently named one of Golf Digest’s Best Young Teachers in America for 2025–2026.

“It is a remarkable opportunity to be a coach for Team Pennsylvania,” Mitchell, 32, of Warminster, Pa., said. “It is an opportunity to build relationships, network and try to make an impact on these junior golfers not only in the game but in their life. I just want to be an outlet for them and a professional contact they can have.”

Williams is co-owner of Hot Shot Golf Academy Pittsburgh, Pa. He is the Director of Instruction and Player Development. He serves as Head Coach of The Hot Shots, a PGA Junior League All-Star Travel Team that has won five PGA Junior League Regional Championships. The Hot Shots have represented Team Pennsylvania in five PGA Junior League National Championships.

“It is an honor to be asked to be a coach for Team Pennsylvania,” Williams, 37, of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., said. “I am thankful for the opportunity to represent our state and be trusted to help Pennsylvania's most talented junior golfers grow as players and as people. It is a privilege to be a part of the inaugural Team Pennsylvania and to give back to the game that's given me so much. Being a coach of Team Pennsylvania is also an opportunity to collaborate with other great coaches, continue my own learning, and set the standard for what junior golf in Pennsylvania can be.”

“We have three coaches that we know are going to be quite enthusiastic,” Nye, 63, of Bryn Mawr, Pa., said. “I think they all have a lot of experience and learn as they go through the process of being coaches for Team Pennsylvania. Having coaches on the East and West of the state was intentional. We wanted to have good coverage. We feel like we have a good balance of coaches from the entire state.”
