2026 George Dressler Memorial Day 1 Recap

Scores

YORK, Pa. - The calendar may have turned to 2026, but some things never change: the Pennsylvania Golf Association (PAGA) has begun another exciting season with the 85th George Dressler Memorial, and Connoquenessing Country Club's Rick Stimmel is playing out-of-this-world golf. Stimmel fired an eight-under-par 64 in Monday's first round to open up a two-stroke lead in the overall standings over LuLu Country Club's Ryan Tall, who leads the Championship Division with a six-under 66. Bob Crnjarich (Allegheny Country Club), Brock Kovach (LedgeRock Golf Club), and Logan Paczewski (Huntsville Golf Club) are all tied for third place overall with five-under 67's.

Stimmel scattered eight birdies throughout his round, including four in the first seven holes. He added birdies on holes No. 12, 13, 16, and 18 to close the round strong and set himself up for another title run on Tuesday. Stimmel, the three-time defending PAGA Senior Player of the Year, has also claimed the last three Dressler Senior titles. Crnjarich trails Stimmel by three strokes in the Senior Division as well, with Bill Rosemeyer (Butler Country Club) at one-under and Neil Gordon (Doylestown Country Club) in third and fourth place, respectively.

Defending Championship Division medalist Nathan Sutherland of Oakmont Country Club currently sits tied for 12th place at even par in that division, with 2025 Dressler runner-up Zach Dilcher (LedgeRock Golf Club) finishing the day tied for eighth place with a one-under 71 as they chase Ryan Tall for the top spot.

Douglas Fedoryshyn (Applecross Country Club) leads the way in the Super-Senior Division with his one-under 71, the only Super-Senior to shoot under par on Monday. Still in the hunt is Bob Beck (Lehigh Country Club) at even par as well as Joe Corsi (Ligonier Country Club) and 2025 PAGA Super-Senior Player of the Year Glenn Smeraglio (LuLu Country Club), who are both tied for third place with one-over 73's.

Tee times for tomorrow's final round begin at 8 a.m., with the final threesome scheduled to tee off at 1:48 p.m.

The Pennsylvania Golf Association would like to thank the staff and membership of Out Door Country Club for the hospitality shown during today's rounds. Additional thanks go to DICK’S Sporting Goods for sponsorship of the event as the title sponsor of the PAGA.
