2026 George Dressler Memorial Day 2 Recap

Scores

YORK, Pa. – Clutch moments and great finishes defined the final round of the Pennsylvania Golf Association’s (PAGA) 85th George Dressler Memorial Championship at Out Door Country Club. Brock Kovach (LedgeRock Golf Club) birdied a fourth playoff hole to claim 2026 medalist honors after a round of ups and downs that included an eight-foot bogey putt on 18 that he had to sink just to make the playoff along with Logan Paczewski (Huntsville Golf Club) and Thomas Young (Saucon Valley Country Club.)

“My putter saved me today,” said Kovach. “I didn’t have the ball striking that I did yesterday, but I pretty much made all the crucial putts today to keep the momentum going. I feel like a win has been a long time coming, especially in the last couple of years. I’ve been playing really good golf and hanging around the leaderboards and I just keep wanting to put myself in contention. I figured one of these days it’ll break my way and today was luckily that day. It feels really good and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season.”

After beginning the round three strokes back of the tournament lead, Kovach bogeyed hole No. 2 but recovered with birdies on 4 and 9, an eagle on 13, and another birdie on 15. His must-make bogey on 18 left him with a second-round 69, tied at eight-under with Paczewski and Young and headed to the playoff. It was pars all around on the first playoff hole, then birdies on the second. No one could sink a birdie putt on the third playoff hole, so to the fourth it went – where Kovach would eventually drain a 30-foot birdie putt to get the win.

Kovach has a busy spring ahead of him. Along with partner Eric Edwards, he qualified for the 11th USGA Four-Ball Golf Championship and will head out to Scottsdale, Ariz. and Desert Mountain Club to compete in his first-ever USGA event from May 12-16.

“I feel like I’ve broke the curse that was over me to finally make one of those after being an alternate a couple of times,” said Kovach. “I figured it’d be good to get a couple of stroke play competitive rounds in me to get the rust off and it’s gone well so I’m feeling a lot more comfortable and prepared before my first USGA event.”

LuLu Country Club’s Ryan Tall claimed sole possession of fourth place on the overall leaderboard at seven-under for the tournament (137 total), and last year’s Dressler runner-up Zach Dilcher (LedgeRock Golf Club) was sixth at five-under (139 total.)

In the Senior Division, Rick Stimmel (Connoquenessing Country Club) claimed his fourth consecutive Dressler Senior title and finished seven strokes clear of the field with a two-day total of 138, six under par. Stimmel led the overall standings after Monday’s first round but found some struggles on the front nine in the second round, with bogeys on 1, 2, and a double on 9. He counterbalanced that with birdies on 3, 7, and 8 and ended up fifth on the overall leaderboard.

Other Senior Division notable finishers included Jeff Frazier (Carlisle Country Club) and Bill Rosemeyer (Butler Country Club) tied for second place at one-over-par, and Neil Gordon (Doylestown Country Club) and Bob Crnjarich (Allegheny Country Club) tied for fourth at two-over for the tournament.

The Super-Senior Division also featured some drama late in the round, with a playoff that spanned three holes before Greg Osborne (Overlook Golf Course) outlasted Bob Beck (Lehigh Country Club) to claim the title. Osborne entered the day six shots back of leader Douglas Fedoryshyn (Applecross Country Club) but improved by eight shots and fired a three-under 69 on Tuesday to force the playoff with Beck. Valley Brook Country Club’s Rich DuCarme finished third at three-over (147) for the week, with Fedoryshyn (149, +5) and Five Ponds Golf Club’s Brian Rothaus (151, +7) rounding out the top five.

“No question I putted much, much better today,” said Osborne. “All I really wanted to do today was play a good round of golf and maybe get back to place in the top three. I certainly had no expectations of a playoff. I felt like if I could birdie three holes on the back I would have an outside chance and I made a really tricky putt on 16. I had an eight foot putt that broke six feet and I just dripped it in – that was really big for me.”

Next up on the 2026 PAGA schedule is the 6th Senior Open Championship, scheduled for May 11-12 at The Club at Nevillewood in Presto, Pa.
