Pennsylvania State Better-Ball Championship
Totteridge Golf Club
Tuesday, June 3, 2003
The first round of the Pennsylvania State Better-Ball Championship was held yesterday at the 6981-yard par 72 Rees Jones designed, Totteridge Golf Club in Greensburg, Pa. Fast and firm greens combined with dry conditions made for a challenging round.
The team of Miguel Biamon and Bernie Zbrzeznj of Whitemarsh Valley CC carded five birdies with no bogies for a 5-under par 67 to take the first day lead. The Totteridge GC team of Arnold Cutrell and James Bryan combined for a 4-under par 68. The defending champions Chris Lilly and Scott Micklewright of Blue Ridge Golf Club shot a 3-under par 69 and are in a five way tie for third.
The second round was cancelled today due to inclement weather. The Championship was reduced to 18 holes.
